Communication and Dissemination

The objective of the WP7 is to raise awareness of the GoE project and the value of genomic testing in healthcare among different relevant stakeholders (citizens/general public, HCPs, scientists, decision- and policymakers, medtech/pharma/data industry).WP7 goal is to promote acceptance of the use of genomic testing in healthcare among stakeholders and address concerns and also to disseminate the project results in a targeted way to encourage the use of the GoE WGS data in clinic and research and further expansion towards a pan-European inclusive reference genome database.

The works is divided into 7 tasks:

  1. Establishing a network of ministries of health and science and other relevant ministries, health authorities and professionals from participating countries
  2. Holding face-to-face meetings with journalists focused on scientific and medical reporting
  3. Creating an online presence for reaching the broader audience
  4. Conducting two polls in about 5 European countries in order to map the awareness of the EU citizens about genomics-based health care
  5. Collaborating with other ongoing initiatives
  6. Organizing specialized educational conferences healthcare professionals and biomedical scientists
  7. BioSTEM activities to raise genomics awareness of high school students
