How does the project work
What it is and how this project will contribute

How does the project work?
The Genome of Europe work is divided into 7 work packages (WP) covering the following topics:
- Coordination
- Samples and Logistics
- ELSI (Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications)
- Data Infrastructure
- Data collection
- Use cases and Pilots
- Communications and dissemination
Each of the work packages involve multiple project participants and are led by a WP lead and a WP co-lead. The seven WPs implement the GoE work plan, with all participants involved being jointly responsible for the WP progress.
For effective management the project coordinator has set up a Project Management Office (PMO) to handle the daily operational management and overall project supervision and an Executive Team, which is responsible for alignment on the scientific implementation of the overall work plan, overseeing the overall scientific progress of the project, identifying hurdles and defining mitigation and contingency measures.
