This WP outlines the WGS data collection activities within GoE. Using input form the other WP’s, the data collecting institutes execute a set of tasks from sample selection to sequencing and data analyses related to the use cases. Depending on the availability of legacy data, sequencing capacity, GDI nodes and other necessary infrastructure, the exact nature of tasks within this WP will differ across countries, and move at different speeds. The main goal is to collectively collect 100,000 citizens WGS data from 40 ancestral populations living in Europe. In this WP, we also track overall progress, identify bottlenecks or shared issues to be tackled in the project.
The work is divided into 8 tasks:
- Sample selection
- Collecting (re-)consent
- Collect DNA
- Sequencing
- Data processing
- Storage and integration with GDI
- Supporting the use cases
- Reporting and communication
